I love my kids. In fact, I’m pretty obsessed with the three of them. They’re among my absolute favourite human beings on this earth. And the decision to drop them off with other people every day isn’t always an easy one to make. Even now, as the littlest boys near two and four, there are days I wish I could just keep them at home with me all day.
In January 2025, I joined the OrangeTheory Fitness Transformation Challenge post-surgery, aiming to regain muscle. Surprisingly, I gained 3 pounds, earning me the title of winner. Six months later, despite being in great shape, I’ve struggled with the mindf**k of the number on the scale.
F is nearly 16, E’s almost two, and S is finishing his “threenager” phase. Between daycare drop-offs, high school prep, and even rappelling off a building, life’s been full—and writing slipped away.
This summer was more sunshine and sticky ice cream hands than client work, and honestly, I’m grateful. As the school year starts, I’m hopeful routine brings space to write again—about the little things I’ve missed sharing.
For the past 364 days, life has burst at the seams almost every day. But tomorrow, we celebrate a whole year of Elliot Mac.
What strikes me most is how my belief that I had a favourite stage has changed. Because living through these distinct stages at the same time has shown me how special they all are.
