As a woman who happily whips out her mixing bowls and wooden spoons several times a week, it will hardly surprise you to learn that I’ve made eleven dozen cookies so far this holiday season to give as gifts. One of my favourite gifts to receive is a new cookbook or bakeware (hint, hint), but a great cookbook or delicious snack is also one of my favourite gifts to give.
With just a few days left before Santa’s arrival, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite stocking-worthy gifts for the foodie in your life. The best part of giving a cookbook? You’ll probably be rewarded with some yummy goodness in the New Year. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. (And of course, if you’re baking you MUST taste-test. Quality assurance.)
Lick Your Plate
This is (hands down) my most favourite cookbook. The pictures are beautiful, the recipes are extraordinary, and I find myself reaching for it every time I need to be inspired or come up with a dish that will wow.
The Neal Brothers are practically synonymous with delicious, so it’s hardly a surprise that their cookbook, Goodness, would be filled with scrumptious recipes and beautiful stories.
Thug Kitchen 101 – Fast as F*ck
For the potty-mouthed pal who’s always in a hurry, Thug Kitchen 101 is packed with quick recipes that will cure hangriness in no time.
Eggnog Snickerdoodles (made with love by you!)
These cookies are easy to make and even easier to eat, with the perfect mix of holiday spice and sweetness. Bonus: You won’t be throwing out half a carton of eggnog, now!
Christmas Crack is the most delicious thing that’s ever passed my lips, and that’s saying something. I’ve made four batches in a week – and Christmas hasn’t even happened yet! The best part is you need exactly zero kitchen know-how to make it.
